Modeling and Analysis Program Information

Oregon Modeling Improvement Program

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Transportation Planning and Analysis Unit (TPAU) analyzes the long-range effects of transportation decisions on travel behavior, transportation system performance, land use and the economy, to help inform investment decisions at state, regional and local levels. TPAU provides essential analysis and technical support for other divisions and units within ODOT, as well as other public agencies and external customers.

Transportation modeling in Oregon is done collaboratively through the Oregon Modeling Statewide Collaborative (OMSC). The Oregon Modeling Statewide Collaborative is a voluntary collaborative team of state, regional and local agencies working to ensure Oregon has the right data, tools, skills and expertise needed to answer important questions about our transportation systems, land use, and economy.

Information on the Oregon Modeling Statewide Collaborative can be found on their website: https://www.oregonmodels.org/about. For information specific to ODOT planning analysis tools and methods, visit our Technical Tools website.
