About the Project

Project Area MapThe Old Railroad Grade Bridge, also known as the Wooden Bridge, is a 160-foot-long timber bridge owned by Yamhill County. Old Railroad Grade Road provides access to timber lands and recreational areas within the Oregon Coast Range.

Due to the bridge condition, the weight allowed on the bridge was recently lowered. Right now, emergency vehicles are above the weight restriction and are not able to cross the bridge.

We're assisting Yamhill County to replace the old timber bridge with a new bridge. The new bridge will:

  • Be widened to allow two-way traffic.
  • Provide better access to large timber holdings in the county.
  • Will allow emergency vehicles to cross and potentially reduce response time.
  • Address the driftwood buildup and jams that occur on the river under the bridge.
  • Be designed to last up to 75 years.
