Many of the timber bridges along U.S. 20 and U.S. 395 are old and starting to fail. Without a long-term solution, ODOT will have to impose load rating restrictions.
The Timber Replacement Program Pilot Project will replace four timber bridges on U.S. 20 and U.S. 395 near Riley, Oregon. Specifically, it will replace one timber bridge on U.S. 20 (BR 03505A) and three timber bridges on U.S. 395 (BR 03606, BR 03607, and BR 03608).
ODOT will use a standard design for all four timber bridges. Using a standard design will make the work faster and less expensive. The goal is to save time and money while making sure the bridges last longer and are safer for everyone.
