This project includes a series of improvements on OR 221 (Wallace Road) from Michigan City Lane to Edgewater Street.
The project will do the following:
Repave the entire stretch of roadway.
Upgrade the curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards.
Upgrade traffic signals with yellow reflective back plates to improve driver visibility, and crosswalks will receive countdown pedestrian signals.
Install rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) and other improvements at five crosswalks: Narcissus Court NW, Lynda Lane NW, Orchard View Avenue NW, the Park and Ride north of Brush College Road and Vick Avenue NW.

The project will benefit the 35,000 motorists a day that use this section of highway combined with a large number of bicycles and pedestrians.
These improvements will enhance safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, while meeting current ADA standards along this stretch of OR 221 (Wallace Road).
