About

This project improves safety and mobility for all travelers by building a protected intersection. Curbed separation, shorter crossings and updated signal phasing and turn lanes reduce conflict points between travelers.

What is a protected intersection?

This intersection style is a design approach to increase safety for pedestrians and people biking. It uses curb buffers to separate vehicles from pedestrians and people biking at key points within the intersection, reducing conflict points.

This protected intersection is similar to other recent improvements in West Linn and is a part of the City of West Linn's OR 43 Concept Plan.
