U.S. 26 (SE Powell Blvd) and SE 92nd Ave Curb Ramp Improvement Project

Design Phase

Region 1: Portland metro and Hood River County (Portland, Multnomah)

We will improve sidewalk curb ramps and pedestrian push button signals to the current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards at the intersection of SE 92nd Avenue and SE Powell Boulevard.  Work includes replacing existing, non-compliant sidewalk curb ramps and pedestrian signals to bring into compliance with ADA standards.

Impacts

Traffic Impact

When construction begins, travelers should expect daytime single-lane closures and nighttime multi-lane closures. Work may also require temporary sidewalk and crosswalk closures. Closures will have signed, ADA-compliant accessible pedestrian detours during construction.

Construction Impacts

Nighttime Noise

Some night work is required for this project. People who live or work in the area may hear noise from heavy equipment, construction trucks, beeping noise when vehicles are in reverse and equipment such as concrete saws, jackhammers, air compressors and generators.

More information will be shared with residents and businesses in the project area before construction begins, including a 24/7 noise hotline number for noise-related concerns.

More details about construction impacts will be provided closer to the construction phase.

Schedule

The project is currently in the design phase through summer 2024. Construction is expected to begin fall 2024 and last through summer 2025.

The project schedule is subject to change.
