Marijuana and Hemp Symbols

Retailers looking to comply with marijuana and hemp labeling requirements should consider the following symbols and statements for their packaging.



ASTM SYMBOL

 

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) symbol must be at least 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 high and it may not be modified, including but not limited to, color and shape, except that the hemp symbol may be larger than the minimum size.

The ASTM symbol must be used on hemp items that are for sale to adults 21 and older in the “general marketplace” (i.e. non-OLCC licensed marijuana dispensaries).

BLUE HEMP SYMBOL


The Blue Hemp symbol must be least 0.48 inches wide by 0.35 high and it may not be modified, including but not limited to, color and shape, except that the hemp symbol may be larger than the minimum size.

The Blue Hemp symbol may be used on hemp products for sale in the OLCC-licensed marijuana dispensaries or on hemp items being sold in the “general marketplace” (i.e. non-OLCC licensed marijuana dispensaries).

MARIJUANA UNIVERSAL SYMBOL


The universal symbol indicates that the product is sold in an Oregon marijuana dispensary.

This symbol is required on all marijuana products being sold at an OLCC-licensed marijuana dispensary. The symbol must be at least .48 inches wide by .35 inches high.
