Architect Emeritus, Emerita, or Emerit status is an honorary inactive registration status available to qualified Oregon architects who have retired or are no longer actively practicing architecture in Oregon.

are honorary designations that may be granted at the discretion of the Board to eligible architects in good standing.
These designations recognize architects with substantial professional experience and long-term Oregon registration history.

Architect Emeritus/Emerita/Emerit status is an inactive registration classification.
Individuals granted this status:

may not practice architecture in Oregon, and
-
may not use the architect title.
Individuals wishing to return to active architectural practice in Oregon must complete reinstatement requirements established by the Board.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for Architect Emeritus/Emerita/Emerit status, applicants must:
currently be in good standing with the Board,

have practiced architecture in a recognized jurisdiction for at least 20 years, and
-
have been an Oregon resident during active architectural practice while maintaining an Oregon individual architect registration for at least 10 consecutive years.
