The Oregon Board of Physical Therapy has continuing competency (CC) requirements in order to renew your PT or PTA license.
All required continuing competency must be completed within the current certification period. The current Certification Period runs from April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2028.
Continuing Competency activities are required to be reported to the Board as part of the renewal process. You will be asked to enter details about your CC courses and activities and upload copies of your certificates as part of your renewal application. You can also enter them throughout the period in order to save time at renewal and track your progress.
Certification Period for Lapsed Licenses:
- Lapsed less than one year: The certification period is April 1 of the even-numbered year prior to your license expiration date to the date of your renewal application submission. Continuing competence hours earned after March 31 of the even-numbered year of expiration to fulfill the requirements necessary to renew the lapsed license shall apply only to the prior certification period.
- Lapsed more than one year: The certification period is the 24 month period immediately preceding your renewal application submission.
