Grants to help give back.

Embark and Oregon ABLE are teaming up with organizations across the state by providing them with performance-based grants to help the communities they serve access important savings accounts for education and disability expenses. Grant partners open doors for families to pursue their dreams and play a meaningful role in our state's financial wellness.

The value of community partnerships​

As trusted members of their community, grantee organizations help to amplify Upward Oregon’s outreach efforts. Grantees are well-positioned to seamlessly communicate the benefits of each program (i.e. tax-free growth, flexibility, gifting) to families and assist them with enrollment. Since the grant program’s launch in 2024, past grantees have helped hundreds of Oregonians access Embark and Oregon ABLE accounts in pursuit of their dreams.

How long does each grant term last? When do we apply?​

The duration of each grant term is four months. Applications are accepted at any time.​

Will we receive training or resources?​

Before you get started, Upward Oregon’s outreach team will host trainings for grantee staff and deliver a toolkit with promotional codes and educational resources that support community engagement. Upward Oregon then coordinates check-ins with grantees to assess progress and provide assistance as needed.​

What happens when our grant term is complete?

We're passionate about helping Oregonians build financial security and about our partners in this work. Grantees that demonstrate effectiveness in increasing participation in Upward Oregon’s savings programs are considered for continued partnership.
