OVERVIEW

Welcome to the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) Tribal Partnership Page, which provides DOC Religious Services resources, documentation, and information/events for DOC user groups and tribal partners.
The mission of Religious Services is to provide opportunity for AICs to explore and practice their faith or spirituality individually and corporately from intake through reentry into the community.
Religious Services, the oldest correctional program in the Oregon Department of Corrections, provides a wide continuum of faith-based services to meet constitutional and legal mandates. It also advises the institutions on issues related to compliance with the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA).

SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS
November - National Native American Heritage Month.
It is a wonderful opportunity to honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native American communities. This month invites us to reflect on the vibrant history and ongoing legacy of Native peoples, and here in Oregon, we are fortunate to partner with the nine federally recognized tribes in our state.
Our partnerships with Oregon's tribes are not only foundational to advancing equity and understanding within the correctional system, but also serve as a powerful force for healing, collaboration, and mutual respect. By working together, we are creating a more inclusive environment where Native American individuals feel supported, empowered, and valued. Through cultural awareness, education, and policy collaboration, we continue to strengthen the connections between our department and tribal communities, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their needs are met.
