Agency Director Recruitment

The Oregon Department of State Lands is seeking our next leader! Director Vicki L. Walker will retire June 30, 2025 following seven years with the Department and a long career in public service. 

By statute, the State Land Board - Oregon's Governor, Secretary of State, and Treasurer - appoint the Director of the Department of State Lands to serve a four-year term. On February 27, 2025, the Land Board officially began the recruitment effort, approving a recruitment framework and delegating authority for oversight of the process. Recruitment Plan and Timeline
The new DSL director is anticipated to be appointed by the State Land Board during its June 10, 2025, meeting.
