The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) have partnered to offer grants to help pay for the costs associated with taking the LARE. CLARB donated $500,000 to fund the grants, and management of the grant program is thorugh the ASLA Fund. Learn about the new program launched in fall 2026 at the CLARB website. Grants are limited to individuals with no access to employer reimbursement, GI Bill benefits, a 529 plan, or other financial assistance with covering ​exam fees. Those selected for a grant will receive reimbursement for LARE exam fees after taking and passing the applicable exam section.​ These grants will not cover travel costs, study materials, preparation courses, or other exam related expenses. The Board encourages Oregon candidates with financial need to look into application for a grant. However, application is not made via the Board, and the Board has no influence over grant decisions.​​

Application and registration management

  • Registration applications can now be completed, submitted, and tracked online through the Applicant Portal.
  • Individuals can manage their personal registrations, including updating contact information, renewing, and reinstating registrations, using the Registrant Portal.
  • Businesses can manage their business registrations, update contact information, change the registered Landscape Architect in responsible charge, and process reinstatements via the Business Registration Portal.
