Amended budget and fee rules
In May 2025, the Board approved changes to the budget and fee rules. These updates will take effect on July 1, 2025. To learn more about these new rules and review the public comments from this process, please visit the About the Board page.
Comprehensive rule update
In November 2025, the Board finished a full update of its rules. The changes went into effect on December 1, 2025. This update included changes to many existing rules, the adoption of one new rule, and the removal of five rules. These adjustments affect the Board's activities, registration options, and how the landscape architecture profession is regulated.
Documents from this rulemaking are available below:
- Order of Permanent Rule Filing documenting the Board's filing with the Secretary of State in November 2025.
- Summary of Public Comments includes the public comments received during the public review period and how the Board considered those comments.
- Notice of Proposed Rulemaking filed with the Secretary of State, which shows details of the proposed amendments and contains information on how to submit comments. This is the official notification of the proposed amendments.
- A clean version of how the rules read, as was shared in support of the public review process. Since the Board did not make any revisions from what was put out for public review, this document continues to assist the public, but is not an official version of the rules. In the event of any errors, the rules as filed with the Secretary of State's Office and accessible in the rules list above are the official rules.
- A summary document providing a high-level overview of the amendments. This document was provided to assist the public in its review of this rulemaking proposal.
- A table that illustrates pathways to registration that now exist, summarizing education and work experience requirements adopted by the Board. As an alternative, a written description of the information found in the table can be accessed on the Qualify and Apply for Exam page of this website.
