Audiobooks on Cartridge
We have over 160,000 Talking Books and can create customized cartridges full of the types of books you will love. The more you can tell us about your tastes, the better your book selection will be!
- Customized Cartridges: Enjoy up to 8 titles per cartridge tailored to your preferences.
- Cartridge Returns: You’ll receive new cartridges until you reach your maximum limit. After that, a cartridge must be returned before a new one is sent. No late fees or lost cartridge fees apply!
- Returning Books: Use the pre-paid container provided. Simply remove the address card and drop it in any USPS mailbox.
- Playback Features: All audio books are narrated by humans, with adjustable tone, speed, and volume on the player.
Requesting Books
Users can request specific titles a couple of different ways:
- Website: Use our online Contact Us form
- Mail: Send requests to Talking Books, 250 Winter St NE, Salem, OR 97301.
- Phone: Call 800-452-0292 (toll-free) or 503-378-5389 and leave us a voicemail with your account information and the books you’d like.
- Email: Send requests to talkingbooks.info@slo.oregon.gov. Include your name and phone number for identification.
- Online Catalog: Log in to our catalog and request a book
Requests can be made by book number or by title and author. The library may not have every title, especially newer releases, which are typically 3-6 months behind print publication.
