Update to Mailing Books

OREGON TALKING BOOK & BRAILLE LIBRARY MAIL REINSTATED


We have started mailing out books again, and the books you receive are going to be a little different (though a lot better) than before!

With all changes comes some questions, so below are a few frequently asked questions (FAQs) with their answers to help you understand this updated system.


​Each cartridge can now have up to 8 books on it.  The cartridges are customized to your requests and preferences.

​There is a permanent return address sticker already on the container, so just put the cartridge in the container and drop it in the mail.  That’s it!

​The books will play one right after the other; be sure to listen to the brief directions that play when you first insert your cartridge.   You can also use the bookshelf feature if you want to select a certain book manually.  To access the bookshelf, press and hold the green Play/Stop button down for 2 seconds until the player beeps and says, “Bookshelf.”

​You can keep a cartridge for as long as you need in order to get through all the books.  All titles are now available to all users without a wait list.  Everyone gets what they want when they want it.

​Right now we are starting everyone at two cartridges per user.  If you need more, let us know and we can raise your limit.
