E-Notification

File a E-Notification

The Oregon Forest Practices Act governs forestry work on non-federal lands. The person responsible for the forestry work must notify ODF. The person must file a Notification of Operation or Permit to Use Fire or Power Driven Machinery before starting the work.

  • File notifications at least 15 days before starting the operation
  • Get a permit for operations that use fire or power driven machinery

The responsible person (such as a forest landowner, timber owner, or operator) can file a notification online.

The system:

  • Notifies the State Forester about the forest operation
  • Applies for a permit to operate power driven machinery or use fire
  • Notifies the State Forester and Department of Revenue about the intent to harvest timber
