Estimation

ODOT uses AASHTOWare ProjectTM (AWProject) Estimation module to prepare project construction cost estimates.

To view bid pricing information, ODOT allows limited, read-only access to AWProject. Email the AWProject Administrator for read-only access.

AASHTOWare Project, or AWProject, works best with Chrome and Edge browsers. Internet Explorer and Safari are not supported.

Estimation Certification

The Project Controls Office requires training and certification prior to granting full access to AWProject Estimation application. The Estimation Certification lasts 3 years from the time the class was taken.

The certification process is as follows:

  1. Begin the "ODOT - SPDB - Estimation Certification" program in Workday Learning:
    1. Complete the self-paced training.
    2. Sign up for a quarterly certification class (offered January, April, October, and December)
  2. Once signed for a certification class, the AWP Administrator will reach out about 1 week before the class with a training User ID and password. Users must practice logging in to the test environment before the certification class.
  3. Internal Users: Once you pass your certification test, the AWP Administrator will add your AWP Username to the production environment.

External Users: Once you pass your certification test and submit the AASHTOWare External User Access Agreement, the AWP Administrator will add your AWP Username to the production environment.

New to Workday? No problem. Visit the Workday Learning customer support page and search the FAQ section for "access."

Externals Accessing Estimation

Once you've successfully completed the training and certification, PCO will update your AWProject profile and notify you by email that you've got full access to AWProject Estimation application. The AASHTOWare External User Access Agreement must be filled out and returned to the AWP Administrator before access will be granted.

Consultant firms must first have notice to proceed for a project under contract before the project will be accessible by the consultant. The ODOT TPM/RE-CP will need to contact the AWP Administrator to grant access to the project.

Re-certification

There are 3 options to get re-certified in Estimation:

Option 1: Complete the entire "ODOT - SPDB - Estimation Certification" program in Workday Learning. This is recommended for those who do not use Estimation frequently.

Option 2: Complete the entire "ODOT - SPDB - Estimation Re-Certification Test - Digital  - Workday" program in Workday Learning. This is for those who have not submitted a PS&E Estimate in the last 6 months, but use Estimation frequently.

Option 3: Submit a PS&E Estimate that was completed in the last 6 months to the PCO Estimators.
