Construction and traffic impacts

During construction in 2027 you can expect crews working at night, shoulder and lane closures, flagging to control the work zone and detours when the road and ramps are closed. We will need to have two full weekend closures of OR 18 and other impacts as detailed below.

We estimate this work to take about three months. The work is weather dependent and our schedule may change.

In addition to the overall impacts listed previously, two areas under bridges need full-depth pavement work and new drain pipes.

This work will require two weekend full closures of OR 18. We won't know the timing until a contractor is on board.

You can expect:

  • Closures allowed from 8 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
  • Detours:

    • Eastbound traffic will detour using the OR 18 connection (Baker Street) to OR 99W and then take the OR 18 eastbound on-ramp.
    • Westbound traffic will detour using the OR 99W off-ramp to the OR 18 westbound connector (Baker Street) and re-enter OR 18 westbound.

We'll pave and build sidewalks where needed between Booth Bend Road to Old Sheridan Road.

When we're paving the rest of the OR 18 connection from OR 99W, you can expect a detour. During the detour, between Booth Bend Road to Old Sheridan Road will be open to local access only.

When we're paving the OR 18 connection to OR 99W, expect a detour to get around the work zone.
  • Detour: Traffic will continue on OR 18 to the east of the McMinnville interchange and return.
