The I-84 Grande Rhonde River bridges (east and westbound structures) are critical infrastructure is eastern Oregon, carrying an average of 10,000-15,0000 vehicles daily. The bridge maintains a continuous flow of interstate commerce freight and regional agriculture through Union County. ODOT replaced these bridges in 2004; it is now time to replace the bridge decks to ensure continued operation.
