‎Highlighted Project:‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ U.S. 97 Veterans Way to Yew Ave. (Redmond)

Potential solutions include:

• New signalized intersections.
• Traffic separators.
• New road connections.
• Pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
• Pavement reconstruction. 

This project has been scoped and has a detailed conceptual design as well as a cost estimate.

U.S. 97, between Veteran's Way and Yew Ave., has many economic and traffic shortcomings, including:

• Heavy congestion and delayed travel times.
• A continuous increase in crashes.
• Lacking or substandard pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
• Limited east-west connectivity between the corridor and the neighborhoods to the west.
• Untapped land development potential due to the many vacant or underdeveloped parcels along the corridor.
  

In a recent ODOT planning study, in a no-build scenario, crashes were predicted to increase from approximately 43 per year today to 76 per year by 2040.

With this project, we are looking to improve safety, pavement condition, access for bicycles and pedestrians, enhance local connectivity, and a U.S. 97 that better supports economic development in Redmond.
