RINEX Data from Partners

If an ORGN partner already provides RINEX files for its site, the ORGN does not duplicate that content on the ORGN site.

Links are provided to those partner sites from the ORGN NAD83 (2011) Epoch 2010.00 Coordinates List or from the Geometronics Toolkit.

Need Older Files?

RINEX files are archived offline, and may be obtained by request. Contact the ORGN for archived content.

Need a Faster Epoch Rate?

Users may request RINEX files with a faster epoch rate on a project-by-project basis; for example, an aerial photography project using airborne GNSS control. Requests must be made in advance.

Many stations collect data at a 1-second epoch rate. All data collected is archived.

Zip Files

The ​file naming convention for these files is ssssdddh.rnx.zip, where:

  • "SSSS" - identifies the site name
  • "DDD" - identifies the Julian date of the year
  • ​"H" - identifies the hour in UTC time​ that each file was started
  • "RNX" - shows the file type as RINEX
  • "ZIP" - indicates the compression method
 

For example, the PDXA station data is zipped in a one hour file from Feb. 10, 2007 starting at 15:00 UTC or 7:00 am PST:

  • Zipped file - pdxa041p.mx.zip

Individual Files

Included in each zip file is an observation file and a navigation file, each with a naming convention similar to the zip file structure noted above.

The naming convention for these files is ssssdddh.yyt, where:

  • "SSSS" - identifies the site name
  • "DDD" - identifies the Julian date of the year
  • ​"H" - identifies the hour in UTC time​
  • "YY" - indicates the year
  • "T" - identifies the file type, "o" for observation and "n" for navigation

For example, the PDXA station from Feb. 10, 2007 starting at 15:00 UTC, or 7:00 am PST:

  • Observation file - pdxa041p.07o
  • Navigation file - pdxa041p.07n

Julian Date Calendar

Julian dates represent each day of the year as a numerical day, continuously counted from Jan. 1 (Julian day 001) through Dec. 31 (Julian day 365).
