NEWS AND UPDATE

Oregon Design Criteria Hub

The division, in partnership with Oregon State University, has launched the Oregon Design Criteria Hub. The hub is an interactive mapping tool that provides site-specific climatic and geographic design criteria for construction projects governed by the Oregon Residential Specialty Code (ORSC). The hub is a streamlined tool where data from multiple maps and sources referenced by the ORSC can be accessed. The hub is available to design professionals as well as local municipalities to assist in efficiently determining appropriate site-specific design criteria and to simplify the design and review of ORSC governed structures.

The Building Codes Division adopts, amends, and interprets specialty codes that make up the Oregon State Building Code. The division administers each code through specialized code programs. Program staff members work with local building officials, industry professionals, advisory boards, and the public to adopt new codes and standards, approve new methods and materials, and maintain a uniform building code throughout the state.
