Adopted codes online

The division works to ensure the adopted codes and standards are accessible. Eight of the adopted specialty codes are available to read online. The remaining codes consist of multiple standards listed on the program pages.

Amendments, errata, helpful tools, and additional information can be found on the code program pages.
The current or most recent code adoption process information can be found on the code adoption pages.

Commercial structures
2022 Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC)
  • Effective: Oct. 1, 2022 with a *6-month phase-in period
  • Based on the 2021 International Building Code (IBC) and International Existing Building Code (IEBC)
  • Mandatory: April 1, 2023

*During the phase-in period, use of the 2019 OSSC or the 2022 OSSC is permitted.

Codebook availability

  • The published codebook is anticipated to become available for purchase in middle November 2022.
  • The read-only online version is anticipated to become available and posted here in late November 2022.
  • A summary of amendments to the base codes is anticipated to be posted here the first week of October 2022.

Energy efficiency
  • Effective April 1, 2021, with a six-month phase-in period
  • Mandatory Oct. 1, 2021
  • Construction standards: ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2019

  • Effective: Oct. 1, 2022 with a *3-month phase-in period
  • Mandatory: Jan. 1, 2023
