License renewal notices

Renewal notices for the Supervising Electrician (S) and Limited Supervising Electrician (PS) licenses were mailed out on Aug. 1, 2025. There were some technical issues with the mailings and some license holders received renewal notices for multiple people. To ensure all license holders receive a renewal notice, a corrected renewal notice was mailed out to all license holders on Aug. 9, 2025. If you have already received a renewal notice you will be receiving a second renewal notice. If you have already renewed your license no further action is required. For questions about your renewal, please contact the licensing program.

Renew a license

Step 1: Check your CE credits

Many licenses issued by the division require continuing education (CE) for renewal. You must have your CE registered in our system before you can renew your license.

Step 2: Update your address

Make sure that the address associated with your license is correct.

Step 3: Renew your license online

All division-issued licenses are eligible for online renewal within 45 days of the expiration date. The expiration date is listed on the front of the license. Renewal notices are mailed to the licensee's address on file 45 days prior to expiration. View online renewal instructions.

Expired licenses

Email the division for information on how to renew an expired license. license.bcd@dcbs.oregon.gov

License holders will need to retest if the license has been expired for more than one year.
