Exams at Portland Community College
Attention applicants approved as of March 23, 2026 to take their exam at Portland Community College (PCC): PCC is currently on strike and not administering BCD exams at this time. To minimize the impact on those waiting to take their exam at PCC, the division will be administering some tests in Portland. To see if you are eligible to take your exam at this alternate location, please reach out to our main office at 503-378-4133.
The division issues electrical, plumbing, boiler, elevator, and manufactured dwelling licenses for individuals and businesses. Each license has a specific set of requirements. All division-issued licenses are eligible for renewal 60 days prior to the expiration date. The expiration date can be found on your license.
