Background checks
When you apply to be a provider for the first time, or when you renew your background check, it is processed by the ODHS Background Check Unit.
You need to authorize the background check and make any required disclosures. You can complete your authorization and any disclosures on a computer, tablet or smart phone.
How to complete a background check
The background check system is called ORCHARDS. Please watch these videos to learn how the system works.
If you don't have an email address
You need to have an email address to use ORCHARDS. Here are some options for getting an email address if you don't have one:
