Statewide Planning and Research Work Program

About the SPR Work Program

The Statewide Planning and Research Work Program, or SPR Work Program, outlines how ODOT plans to use Federal Highway Administration funds for planning, programs, research, development, and information and technology sharing. It consists of two parts. Subpart A is focused around planning, programs and project development activities. Subpart B is focused around research, development and technology sharing activities. These activities help the ODOT decision-making process by anticipating future transportation needs, identifying and prioritizing new projects, evaluating projects, and choosing funding strategies. The SPR Work Program also furthers the development of transportation technology by sharing research, and promotes and implements new transportation technology. All of these efforts support an efficient, safe, modern and reliable multimodal transportation system.
