Commission Overview

The Commission is comprised of nine (9) Commission members.  Eight (8) members are appointed by the Governor upon recommendation, two (2) each by the Democratic and Republican leaders of the Oregon House and Senate. The Governor selects one (1) member directly. All members must be confirmed by the Senate. No more than three (3) of the members may be from the same political party. The law allows members to serve two four-year terms. The Commission meets approximately every six (6) weeks.  The meetings normally begin at 9:00 a.m. at the OGEC office at 3218 Pringle Rd S, Suite 220, Salem, Oregon 97302 and online.
