Rollout of JJIS Modernization will happen in sections based on job role (e.g., detention staff, county field staff, OYA custody workers, etc.).

We are looking to have multiple rollouts throughout the project. A timeline will be published.

The JJIS Business Integration and Training (BIT) team trainer will instruct live training with local staff (aka JJIS Coaches).

JJIS Coaches are local OYA and county staff who volunteer to be trained in modernized JJIS. Each receives a detailed Instructgor Guide. These coaches also co-instruct the live trainings, and provide HyperCare for up to four weeks after the trainings.

HyperCare is focused on JJIS Modernization support to JJIS users that occurs after initial training.

Roles include: screen reviewers, content reviewers, testers, and JJIS Coaches.

If you want to volunteer, reach out to Nick Buring (nicholas.buring@oya.oregon.gov) or Sylvia Burford (sylvia.burford@oya.oregon.gov).

The JJIS Steering Committee is actively working on advancing racial equity and has created a solid foundation for our work to strategically and collaboratively improve outcomes for underserved and marginalized youth across OYA and for our county partners.

A Modernized JJIS system will allow us to better track and improve outcomes in areas where the legacy system is not agile enough (e.g., accurately representing youth self-reports on race, ethnicity, and gender).

The JJIS Steering Committee identified "Youth Case" as Priority 1 for the JJIS Modernization Project, which will provide enhanced capabilities for quality case plans, informing and improving outcomes for marginalized youth across OYA and for our county partners.
