    ​Want a lower deductible on your medical plan? Just a few simple steps will get you there!

    1. Say "YES!" -- choose to participate in the Healthy Futures program (by March 31).

    2. Learn your risks by completing a confidential health assessment (by May 31).

    3. Take two healthy actions to address your risks (by August 15).

    and 4! Report your actions (during the Open Enrollment period). 

    You'll automatically receive a lower deductible on your OEBB medical plan the following year!

Healthy Futures - What To Do Ideas for Wellness Actions

Step 1 - Agree to Participate

by March 31

Log into the MyOEBB system by March 31 and make sure your Healthy Futures election is set to "Yes! I want to participate!" If you cover a spouse/partner on your medical plan, selecting "Yes" indicates you both will participate. If one of you completes the steps but the other doesn't, your family as a whole will not have satisfied the requirements of the Healthy Futures program and no reward will be received.

Step 2 - Complete a Health Assessment
by May 31
Log into your medical carrier's website (Moda Health or Kaiser Permanente) and complete a confidential online health assessment. If you cover a spouse/partner on your medical plan, make sure they also complete their own individual health assessment. If one of you participates but the other doesn't, your family as a whole will not have satisfied the requirements of the Healthy Futures program and no reward will be received.

Step 3 - Take two healthy actions
by August 15
The only requirements about what actions to take are:
1) If your health assessment indicates that weight is a health risk, one of your actions must be aimed at reducing that risk.
2) If your health assessment indicates that tobacco use is a health risk, one of your actions must be aimed at reducing that risk.
The options are limitless! (See the column to the right for some great suggestions.) Choose an activity that interests/challenges you and addresses your personal health risks. If you don't exercise much, try scheduling a 15 - 30 minute walk each day. If you already exercise regularly, set a goal that stretches you to new achievements. Or if your stress level is high, try some new relaxing techniques. Each person's comfort zone is different, so just try to step slightly out of yours. You might be amazed by how a small change can improve your life! If you cover a spouse/partner on your medical plan, make sure they also take two actions to address their personal health risks. If one of you participates but the other doesn't, your family as a whole will not have satisfied the requirements of the Healthy Futures program and no reward will be received.
 
 
Step 4 - Report your two activities in MyOEBB
during Open Enrollment
It's that simple! No proof required, just log into MyOEBB during the Open Enrollment period and report the two actions you took. Once you've logged your actions in the system, you'll see all your medical plan options will automatically update to include "Healthy Futures" in the plan name, indicating that you have succesffully completed the program and will receive your financial reward for the upcoming plan year!

Better Choices, Better Health

Better Choices Better Health is an online self-management course developed by Stanford University to assist people in dealing with problems associated with chronic medical conditions. Workshops are led by trained facilitators and include approximately 25 participants. You can participate in the six-week interactive workshop at your own pace from any computer.

 
OEBB members and dependents age 18 or older enrolled in an OEBB medical plan can participate at NO COST.

MoodHelper is an online program for adults who want help managing their depression. Going at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home, you can learn skills to overcome depression that have been effective for millions of people.

Weight Watchers
