The goal of the Impaired Driving Program is to reduce drunk and drugged driving through education, law enforcement and public outreach.
Oregon’s Impaired Driving Prevention Program Assessment
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is completing a comprehensive assessment of Oregon’s Impaired Driving Prevention Program. This assessment aims to identify challenges and opportunities to strengthen efforts to reduce alcohol- and drug-impaired driving and the resulting crashes, injuries, and fatalities on Oregon highways.
A team of national subject matter experts evaluated Oregon’s impaired driving prevention systems since fall 2025. Their work will concluded with a series of panel interviews with Oregon stakeholders on February 3 and 4.
