Plumbing Inspector (PI) Practical Examination

Practical examination description

The Plumbing Inspector practical examination is a 12-week (approximate) practicum-style course of study and examination process that explains the codes and processes for performing commercial plumbing inspections covered by the Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code. The practical examination addresses the various components of commercial plumbing installations that are verified during the inspection process. The practicum is taught through interactive training between the instructor and individuals, specific questions and assigned research, and progress exams.

Individuals who successfully pass the practical examination process will receive approval to take the state plumbing inspector certification exam. Exams with a passing score of 75 percent or higher will be issued an Oregon Plumbing Inspector (PI) certification.

Fees

$80 Certification application and exam fee.

  • Due at time of initial application submittal. Non-refundable.

$650 Practical examination fee.

  • Fee includes lessons, Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes
  • Individuals are responsible for purchasing code and reference books
