Climate Action Planning

The Office of Sustainability is helping agencies lead by example by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agency operations. Our office provides agencies with a custom climate action planning tool and guidance and provides support so agencies can compile operational greenhouse gas inventories; identify reduction goals; and target strategies to reduce emissions in buildings, fleet, refrigerant management, procurement and other areas. Agencies wishing access to the tool and accompanying guidebook can contact the Office of Sustainability

Energy plays an important role for long-term sustainability in the state. A sustainable Oregon includes developing safe, clean, and sustainable energy resources - and using energy wisely.

DAS is Reducing its Impact on Climate Change by Investing in Renewable Energy

In 2022. DAS purchased over 6.8 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy credits from Portland General Electric, funded the utility uses to invest in renewable energy projects around the region. Offsetting about 30 percent of all electricity DAS purchased in 2022, the credits are equivalent to the electricity used by 946 homes in a year. These efforts, along with continued investments in making our buildings more energy efficient, are part of our longer-term efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and lead by example.
