Fire Instructor and Course Information

DPSST certifies instructors deemed qualified to teach appropriate certified training courses/classes. In order to apply, one must meet the minimum requirements which are established by DPSST in the areas of education, training, and experience. Additionally, DPSST certifies curriculum. DPSST only certifies “content courses”, which means the curriculum being submitted must meet the intent of the adopted standard(s) within the fire certification system.

To apply, submit an F-9F: Request to Instruct an Approved DPSST Fire Course.

For a list of approved DPSST courses, please see our Course List by Course ID. You will need the Course ID for question 1 on the F-9F. ​

Apply to Certify Your Course Curriculum

To apply, submit an F-20: Application for Certification of a Course along with your curriculum including lesson plans.
