The Department of State Lands leases rangeland to qualified applicants. A completed application, with a non-refundable application fee of $250 is required. Grazing and other uses will be considered.
- The 2023 base rental rate for grazing is $11.69/AUM, which changes annually based on calf prices. There is a minimum annual grazing fee of $250.
- The lease term is 20 years, plus an additional renewal period.
The Department of State Lands reviews all applications received by the specified deadline in accordance with OAR 141-110-0040, and makes a lease offer to the best-qualified applicant within 60 days. In the event there are multiple best-qualified applicants, the department may request a “bonus bid” and award the lease to the highest bidder.
