Grants Advisory Committee

Each biennium, DLCD awards technical assistance grants with input from the Grants Advisory Committee. The Oregon Legislature allocates general fund dollars for technical assistance grants when approving the agency’s budget. This technical assistance grant program, unlike more specialized grant programs offered by the department, can be used by local and tribal governments for a wide variety of land use planning-related activities. Visit the Grant and Funding Opportunities webpage to see what grants the department is currently offering.

The Grants Advisory Committee provides guidance to the department and the Land Conservation and Development Commission. Committee members represent a broad group of land use interests. Per Oregon Revised Statute 197.639, the committee must include members from the League of Oregon Cities, the Association of Oregon Counties, metropolitan service districts, the Special Districts Association of Oregon, land use planning public interest groups, and developer interest groups. Each biennium, the Grants Advisory Committee, along with the Land Conservation and Development Commission, creates a Grants Allocation Plan. This plan sets priorities for grant funding. The department uses this plan as guidance when awarding technical assistance grants.

Please contact DLCD staff if you are interested in serving on the Grants Advisory Committee.
