What We Do
We conduct investigations of dealer, vehicle appraisers and commercial driver schools to make sure they are properly licensed, certified and insured. We also certify non-commercial driver training schools and drive examiners, making sure they follow federal and state regulations, and we investigate driver license and ID fraud. We write the policies about driver licenses and permits and motorcycle endorsements and manage the Organ Donor Program, the Motor Voter Program, and maintain the Oregon Driver Manual.
We work to improve and standardize business processes, coordinate and monitor changes to DMV hardware and software, and plan and initiate major projects within the DMV. We coordinate the implementation of new laws, manage license plate and sticker inventory, deal with stolen vehicle cases, and write and review DMV forms.
