Westside Multimodal Improvements Study

We are studying how people travel in and through the westside corridor today and in the next 20 years. Building off of past studies, ODOT and Metro, in partnership with local agencies and other stakeholders are learning about the current problems people have traveling by bus, on foot, or with wheels, also known as multimodal options. We'll analyze these challenges and work with the community to create solutions to solve those problems.

This study will end with recommendations for potential plans, projects, strategies, and technologies that will address the needs of our community and travelers. This level of preliminary planning is important and gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to the community's vision for transportation. It's important that we hear from you.

Purpose

The Westside Multimodal Improvements Study will identify investments to create equitable corridor solutions that:

Improve access to employment, educational and commercial centers.
Improve safety and mobility throughout the westside corridor for all types of travelers.
Improve connections between high employment and residential areas.
Improve connections between agricultural freight areas and distribution centers.
Support future household and economic growth projected in the corridor.
Support regional and statewide climate goals.

Schedule

Throughout 2022 and early 2023, we'll be reaching out to the community to understand your thoughts, concerns, and ideas for the future.
