Public Meetings Law Rules Advisory Committee

Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC) will soon begin the process of adopting rules on Public Meetings Law. We are now accepting applications from interested Oregonians to serve on the Rules Advisory Committee (RAC).

Members of this RAC will assist agency staff in reviewing and recommending Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) for Public Meetings Law, ORS 192.610 to 192.705.

We anticipate having members on the RAC that represent a variety of stakeholder groups, such as the Oregon School Board Association, Association of Oregon Counties, League of Oregon Cities, Special Districts Association of Oregon, as well as state agencies, boards and commissions, counties, municipalities, and members of the public.

RAC Meetings

OGEC expects the RAC will meet virtually during May and June 2024. Meetings are expected to last between two and three hours.

Members of the public will be able to view RAC meetings in person or online and are welcome to submit written comments to staff throughout the rulemaking process. More information about the proposed rules will be available on the Rulemaking page of OGEC's website.

Application

The application period to serve on the RAC is now closed. We will send out confirmation emails the week of April 29, 2024.
