Caroline Barrett, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician. She is also assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University's Center for Women’s Health. Dr. Barrett completed residency training at Community Health Care. Community Health Care is a consortium of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Tacoma, Washington. This training and later positions in the Portland metro community give Dr. Barrett extensive experience working with Medicaid and Medicare members.
Dr. Barrett grew up on the Southern Oregon coast and understands the health care challenges in rural communities. She learned fluent Spanish while attending Portland State University for her undergraduate degree. For the last 18 years, she has used her language skills serving Spanish-speaking communities. After PSU, she went to Concordia University for a Biology degree. During medical school at OHSU, she completed a student fellowship in pathology.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and rescue poodle. She also enjoys reading all things fiction, gardening and traveling.
