The HCA staff will respond to messages within one hour of receipt for life-threatening health and safety issues; and two business days of receipt for non-life threatening health and safety issues (see list below).
Health and safety issues may include:
Air Quality
Propane/natural gas/methane gas detected
Electrical hazards-exposed wires/open panels/broken/missing face plates
Plumbing equipment not functioning/toilets/drains/faucets
Tripping hazards on the property or inside a residence
Missing/non-functional fire extinguishers
Flammable materials improperly stored
Hazards
Sharp edges
Infestation
Rats/mice/vermin
Leaking water-pipes/ceiling/walls
Mold and/or mildew observed
Sewer odor detected
Water leaks on/near electrical equipment
Elevator non-functional/unreliable/dangerous
Emergency/fire exits blocked/un-useable
Missing exit signs
Garbage and debris-accumulation of garbage and/or debris exceeding the capacity of the storage area, or not stored in an area sanctioned for such use (indoors/outdoors)
General defects or hazards that pose risk of bodily injury
Tripping
Insects
Rusty/impure water
Unsafe appliances/sparks/shorts/non-functional
Broken windows or doors
Entry doors or windows that don't lock
