After construction is done
Once construction at your home is finished, there are a few final steps.
Final Walk-Through: You and your contractor will walk through your home one last time. This is your chance to check the completed work and point out repairs you do not believe are finished.
Final Inspection: Before the final inspection, the contractor should finish
all work, have
all permits closed out and have the Certificate of Occupancy for your home. The contractor will be required to submit the Certificate of Occupancy to the program when they request the final inspection.
Post-construction survey
After your project is complete, HARP will send you a short survey. This helps us understand your overall experience and how your contractor performed.
Warranty binder
Your contractor should provide you with all your project warranties. These are the standard warranty terms based on the type of work:
- Reconstruction
- 1-year coverage for finishes and appearance (example: paint, flooring)
- 3-year coverage for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- 10-year warranty for the home’s structure
- Rehabilitation (for property components addressed in program scope)
- 1-year coverage for finishes and appearance
- 2-year coverage for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- 2-year warranty for the home’s structure
- Manufactured home replacement
- 1-year coverage for finishes and appearance
- 2-year coverage for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- 2-year warranty for the home’s structure
