Buying & Selling a Home

Manufactured and Floating homes
Manufactured, mobile and floating homes are residential options in many states. Many can be easily moved from place to place. Generally, they are less expensive than buying a standard brick-and-mortar home.

There are some important differences from buying a standard home. Specifically, a mobile and floating homes do not come with land. Instead, if you plan to stay in one place for an extended time, you must lease your place in a manufactured, mobile or marine home community.

State law generally governs the sale of manufactured and floating homes. These laws generally serve to protect consumers. Both buyers and sellers should familiarize themselves with Oregon’s laws to ensure that they get the full benefit of the bargain.
