Registering with OMMP

Registering as a Patient

To register as a medical marijuana registry identification cardholder (patient), visit the Oregon Health Authority's Oregon Medical Marijuana Program webpage.
The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is responsible for the administration of the state's cannabis tracking system (CTS or “Metrc") and has limited compliance responsibility with OMMP grow sites, processing sites, and dispensaries. However, the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program itself is administered by the Oregon Health Authority. Individuals seeking to register as a patient can find more information from OHA's website.
Personal possession and use for recreational purposes is legal in Oregon. A medical marijuana registry identification card is not required to purchase marijuana for recreational purposes from a licensed recreational marijuana Retailer. A person other than a cardholder who is 21 years of age or older and has valid identification may purchase marijuana from any recreational marijuana Retailer location.
To find a map of recreational marijuana Retailers, visit the OLCC's recreational marijuana program home page
Some recreational marijuana Retailers also sell marijuana for medical purposes. Such Retailers may offer free or discounted marijuana to cardholders and may provide this marijuana to a cardholder or caregiver who is 18 years of age or older. Tax is not collected on marijuana sold by a recreational marijuana Retailer to a registry identification cardholder or caregiver when the purchase is for medical purposes.
