As of January 15, 2022, a physician assistant may register for dispensing authority as outlined in the practice agreement. The PA may not dispense medication until registered with the Board and in compliance with a practice agreement and guidelines and standards established by a supervising physician.
*Effective January 1, 2018, physician assistants with general dispensing authority may dispense Schedule III-IV controlled substances, which was previously prohibited. This change is a result of Senate Bill 423 (2017).
