    Fleet is charged with the responsibility of providing safe and economical transportation for the business needs of the state. Under ORS Chapter 283, DAS Fleet is given authority to regulate and oversee nearly all state-owned vehicles. DAS Fleet assists other state agencies with vehicle aquisition, storage, fueling, maintenance, disposal and other requirements.

    Parking and Commuting Services provides parking options for state employees visiting or working in the Salem Capitol Mall area, the Portland State Office Building, or the Eugene State Office Building. Parking and Commuting Services identifies, develops, and promotes alternative modes of transportation for state employees in Salem.

  • New Vehicle Rates

    Each biennium Fleet establishes new vehicle rates. The following are proposed rates for the 2013-15 biennium. These rates are subject to change pending final budget approval.

    Please note the following changes that are effective July 1, 2013:

    • The monthly rate for fully depreciated long-term (permanently assigned) vehicles will increase from $50 to $113.

    • The monthly rate for fully depreciated seasonal vehicles will increase from $100 to $150.
  • City of Salem Parking Meter Rate Increase

    Effective Thurs., Feb. 14, 2013, all City of Salem parking meters, except those at the Salem Library main campus, will increase to $1.50/hour. An increase of $.75/hour is estimated to generate additional revenue of $250,000 to $363,202 for City of Salem Parking Services. Parking meters at the Library main campus will remain $.50/hour to accommodate Library patrons.

  • City of Salem Parking Meter Cash Key Program Reinstated

    Beginning April 29, 2013, parking patrons will have three options for the utilization of City of Salem parking meters: paying with coins, purchasing a daily parking permit for $15, or purchasing a meter cash key for $24.

    Unlike the Cash Key Program which was eliminated in 2012, cash keys will now be purchased rather than requiring a refundable key deposit.

  • Moratorium on Use of Studded Tires for State-Owned Vehicles Begins


    July 1, 2012 begins the phase-out of the use of studded tires in state fleets.

    The Fleet Management Advisory Council (FMAC) considered how vehicles are used across all state agencies and decided the time was right to implement the moratorium.
