  • Welcome to Fleet & Parking Services

Fleet Services provides safe and economical transportation for the business needs of the state. Under ORS Chapter 283, Fleet is given authority to regulate and oversee nearly all state-owned vehicles. Fleet assists other state agencies with vehicle aquisition, storage, fueling, maintenance, disposal and other requirements.

Parking Services provides parking options for state employees visiting or working in the Salem Capitol Mall area, the Portland State Office Building or the Eugene State Office Building. Under ORS Chapter 276, Parking identifies, develops, and promotes alternative modes of transportation for state employees in Salem.

  • Project Money Goes 'Down the Drain'

The state Motor Pool lost 150 vehicles and thousands of gallons of fuel in January 2012 when a flash flood caused damage in many areas of Salem. But Fleet & Parking Services recently completed an improvement project at the Motor Pool and staff report they are ready should Mother Nature put on a repeat performance.

  • Vehicle Preventative Maintenance Schedule Changes
Effective October 1, 2013, vehicle preventative maintenance service intervals will change.
Vehicles currently on a 5,000 mile service interval will move to 7,500 miles. Low use vehicles within this group – less than 450 miles per month – will move to a 12 month service interval.
We estimate this change will reduce work orders and trips to service vendors by approximately 2,500 per year with little risk for damage to the vehicles.
  • City of Salem Parking Meter Cash Key Program Reinstated

Beginning April 29, 2013, parking patrons will have three options for the utilization of City of Salem parking meters: paying with coins, purchasing a daily parking permit for $15, or purchasing a meter cash key for $24.

Unlike the Cash Key Program which was eliminated in 2012, cash keys will now be purchased rather than requiring a refundable key deposit.

  • Fleet & Parking Service Level Agreement

Under the auspices of the EAM Customer Utility Board (CUB), DAS Fleet and Parking and a group of customer agency representatives completed the development of the new Fleet and Parking Service Level Agreement (SLA). The final SLA document was voted and approved unanimously by the members of the Board during the September CUB meeting.

The objective of this SLA is to ensure both Fleet and Parking staff and customers understand and agree how the services will be performed and the responsibilities and expectations of each party. The SLA describes Fleet and Parking services, identifies service level performance targets and responsibilities, and documents service management processes agreed upon by DAS and representatives from all four Customer Utility Boards. The SLA is a working document meant to reflect the continuous change in services and operating processes delivered by DAS, and the change in service level expectations agreed upon between Surplus Fleet and Parking and customers.
