The Wetlands Program is responsible for having ODOT comply with the Oregon Removal-Fill Law as well as section 404 of the Federal Clean Water Act. Its goal is to ensure that wetland and water resources are accurately identified during project development and that appropriate measures are taken to avoid and minimize impacts where possible. Operating out of Salem, the Wetlands Program tracks reports submitted to regulatory agencies by wetland specialists and permits coordinators located in all of ODOT's 5 Regions. The Program Coordinator tracks data and ensures that standards and procedures are followed to adequately document findings.
