The Hydraulics Manual provides policies, practices and guidance used by the Oregon Department of Transportation for deisng of hydraulic facilities on state highways.
Ongoing Updates
ODOT is rewriting the Hydraulic Design Manual to produce a new Hydraulic Manual that reflects current engineering practices. Revised chapters will be released in phases as they are completed. The
Hydraulic Manual Transition Plan explains how chapters supersede prior guidance and how to apply standards during the transition. The
Preface provides background on the rewrite, chapter structure, and a crosswalk to the 2014 edition.
A separate Stormwater Design Manual is also being developed to consolidate stormwater design, regulatory, and best management practice guidance previously included in the 2014 Hydraulic Design Manual. The Stormwater Design Manual development is also covered in the Transition Plan and Preface.
The new guidance takes precedence over the old. If you have questions or concerns please reach out to
Delanie Cutsforth.
