| Rosemary Carvalho |
|
Ms. Rosemary Carvalho has had her own midwifery practice in the Rogue Valley since 1988. She was involved in the legislative process that led to establishment of the Board of Direct Entry Midwifery in 1993.
Ms. Carvalho is a member of the Oregon Midwifery Council and has served as a board member on Ashland High School's Health Center Advisory Board and Advocates for the Severely Handicapped.
"I feel that giving birth to and raising my own children has been an education in itself," says Ms. Carvalho. "But I also believe that the regulatory requirements for modern midwifery are a key aspect of providing safe and effective care."
